2027 Can-Am Outlander X MR 1000

The 2027 Can-Am Outlander X mr 1000 is built for mud and not much else, and it does that exceptionally well: 30-inch Swamp King XL tires, snorkels, a relocated radiator, a 3,500-lb winch and the 82-hp Rotax V-twin.

Who the Outlander X mr 1000 is for

Riders who seek out the deepest holes on purpose. If your weekends involve swamps, bottomland or mud bogs, this is the Outlander built for it.

What stands out

• 82-hp Rotax V-twin, 66 lb-ft (1000). Strong, smooth power that makes towing and climbing effortless.
• 30-inch XPS Swamp King XL tires. Deep lugs that dig through mud rather than packing up.
• 3,500-lb winch with synthetic rope. Because in deep mud, getting stuck is part of the plan.
• Snorkeled intakes and relocated radiator. Keeps water out of the engine and CVT and mud off the radiator.
• Visco-4Lok front differential. Progressive front locking for traction in the slop.
• Relocated front bumper and mud-specific rear rack. Grab handles built into the rack for pulling it free by hand.

What’s new for 2027

For 2027, Can-Am renamed the 82-hp Outlander 850 as the Outlander 1000, a better match for its 999cc V-twin. The 101-hp 1000R carries over. Select XT and Backcountry packages can now be ordered with Can-Am’s 10.25-inch touchscreen, and every Outlander uses the pDrive primary clutch.

X mr 1000 vs. X mr 1000R

Same mud hardware. The 1000R adds 19 horsepower for spinning 30-inch tires through deep, heavy mud. The 1000 is plenty for most mud riders.

Common questions

Is the X mr practical as an everyday ATV?

It works, but its tires and setup are optimized for mud. On hard-packed trails and for general chores, an XT or Backcountry will ride more comfortably.

Who can ride a Outlander X mr 1000 in Virginia?

Virginia limits riders under 16 to ATVs of 90cc or less, so this is an adult machine. Every rider must wear an approved helmet, and ATVs aren’t allowed on public roads except to cross one by the most direct route.

Can I carry a passenger?

Not legally. Virginia prohibits passengers on an ATV unless it’s designed and equipped for more than one rider, and this one is built for one. If you want to ride two-up, look at the MAX version.
