The 2027 Can-Am Outlander PRO DPS HD7 is a working ATV from the factory: a work-calibrated Rotax engine, utility-tuned suspension and heavy-duty protection, with power steering.
Who the Outlander PRO DPS HD7 is for
Farmers, landowners and anyone whose ATV is a tool first. The PRO is calibrated for work, not speed, with engine tuning, suspension and protection built around hauling, towing and long days on the property.
What stands out
- Tri-Mode Dynamic Power Steering with Work/Standard/Sport modes. Less effort and kickback, and a Work mode for smoother power when hauling.
- Work-calibrated Rotax engine. Tuned for pulling and hauling, with less noise and vibration. HD7 is the stronger engine (up to 50 hp); HD5 is the lighter-duty, lower-cost option.
- Front and rear bumpers, A-arm protectors, fender flares, handguards and footwell protectors. Protection for a working life.
- Cruise control, engine modes and intelligent engine braking. Useful for long runs down fence lines and controlled descents with a load.
- 26-inch, 6-ply tires. Tougher than standard tires against thorns, stubble and sharp rock.
- pDrive clutch with longer maintenance intervals. Valve adjustments only every 6,000 miles, so less downtime.
What’s new for 2027
Can-Am simplified the Outlander PRO lineup for 2027. The base model is now the PRO S, a new PRO DPS adds power steering, and the PRO XT replaces the Hunting Edition, with MAX versions of the DPS and XT. Every PRO now comes with fender flares, handguards, footwell protectors and a hitch ball mount standard.
PRO DPS vs. PRO XT
The XT adds a 3,500-lb winch, Visco-4Lok, aluminum wheels and Trail King tires. If your work regularly involves pulling or deep mud, step up. Otherwise the DPS covers the essentials.
Common questions
HD5 or HD7?
HD7 has the more powerful of the two work-calibrated engines, up to 50 hp. It’s the better pick if you tow heavy loads, work on hills or carry a passenger on a MAX. HD5 saves money for lighter chores on gentler ground.
Who can ride a Outlander PRO DPS HD7 in Virginia?
Virginia limits riders under 16 to ATVs of 90cc or less, so this is an adult machine. Every rider must wear an approved helmet, and ATVs aren’t allowed on public roads except to cross one by the most direct route.
Can I carry a passenger?
Not legally. Virginia prohibits passengers on an ATV unless it’s designed and equipped for more than one rider, and this one is built for one. If you want to ride two-up, look at the MAX version.
