2027 Can-Am Outlander X MR 700

The 2027 Can-Am Outlander X mr 700 is Can-Am’s most accessible mud machine: snorkeled intakes, a relocated radiator and a Visco-4Lok front differential, powered by the 50-horsepower Rotax single.

Who the Outlander X mr 700 is for

Riders whose idea of a good day ends with the ATV hosed off in the driveway. It’s built for bottomland, swamps and deep ruts, where a standard ATV would pull water or pack its radiator with mud.

What stands out

• Snorkeled CVT and engine intake and exhaust. Keeps water and mud out of the parts that can’t handle it.
• Relocated radiator. Moved up out of the muck so it keeps cooling.
• Visco-4Lok front differential. Progressive locking up front for traction in deep, slick terrain.
• Rotax 650 single, 50 hp and 41 lb-ft (700). The same engine as the 500 in a stronger tune, which you’ll notice most when towing or climbing.
• pDrive CVT with low, high, neutral, reverse and park. A proper low range for pulling and crawling.

What’s new for 2027

Every Outlander now uses Can-Am’s pDrive primary clutch, built for quicker response, lower maintenance and long service life. On MAX models, the passenger seat is now removable, so switching between solo and two-up riding takes less effort.

X mr 700 vs. X mr 1000

The X mr 1000 moves to Can-Am’s 82-hp V-twin with 30-inch Swamp King XL tires and a 3,500-lb winch standard. If you ride deep mud seriously and often, the bigger machine is worth it. If mud is part of the fun rather than the whole point, the 700 costs a lot less.

Common questions

Is the X mr good for everyday use?

It works, but it’s a specialist. The mud-focused tires and setup trade some smoothness on hard-packed trails. If you ride mud only occasionally, an XT or DPS will be more comfortable most of the time.

Who can ride a Outlander X mr 700 in Virginia?

Virginia limits riders under 16 to ATVs of 90cc or less, so this is an adult machine. Every rider must wear an approved helmet, and ATVs aren’t allowed on public roads except to cross one by the most direct route.

Can I carry a passenger?

Not legally. Virginia prohibits passengers on an ATV unless it’s designed and equipped for more than one rider, and this one is built for one. If you want to ride two-up, look at the MAX version.
